Kneehill County is issuing a Request for Tender for the supply of three (3) 1/2 ton pickup trucks, two (2) 3/4 ton pickup trucks and one (1) 3-ton cab & chassis pickup, to be delivered Free on Board (F.O.B.) to the Kneehill County Maintenance Shop (205 1st Ave, Three Hills, AB). The desired date for delivery of these units under the contract is ASAP after January 31, 2025. The units shall be a standard production model pickup trucks as specified in the spec sheets. This specification covers only the significant details of the units. The Vendor is responsible for delivering a fully equipped units with compatible components to provide dependable, efficient service. The trucks shall be new only. Kneehill County will NOT accept demonstrators or previously used rental units.

Awarded Summary
For the 2025 Capital Plan, the County required the acquisition of three (3) ½-tonne trucks, two (2) ¾-tonne trucks, and one (1) 3-tonne truck for the fleet. A Request for Tender (RFT), including detailed specification sheets, was publicly posted on the Bids & Tenders website. To facilitate a fair pricing comparison among dealers, all bidders were asked to include the standard value-added additions required by the County in their submissions.
Following an initial evaluation, it was determined that all submissions fell within the allocated budget before taxes and fees. Given the ongoing global supply chain challenges, we thoroughly reviewed available options, accessory selections, vendor pricing, and estimated delivery timelines.
Three (3) vendors submitted tenders for all requested units. As per the terms and conditions of the RFT, Kneehill County reserves the right to award sales contracts either in whole or in part to the highest-scoring vendor for each unit.
- For the ½-tonne trucks, Westergard Ford of Drumheller submitted the highest-scoring compliant tender.
- For the ¾-tonne trucks, Westergard Ford of Drumheller also submitted the highest-scoring compliant tender.
While we have previously conducted business with some bidders and have established positive working relationships, all submissions were evaluated objectively based on the outlined criteria.
